Why Now?

If you are wondering when you should start talking about your big plan, your million-dollar idea, your next big thing, don’t. The answer is simple. Start now. The only thing keeping your idea from getting done is you.

Too many people are afraid of losing their idea. “What if someone else steals it?” Guess what. Unless its made, it doesn’t exist. And no idea is good if it doesn’t exist. Maybe you can’t make it yet - make sure someone can. Tell everyone. Your next idea will be that much better.

Don’t Fear the Hater

It just means you’re doing something. Cynics are too calculating to try something new and would rather just stay in the peanut gallery and throw their barbs at you. Embrace them as evidence that you are going somewhere and trying to build something. Silence can be more deadly than gallons of venom.

Fancy Junk

There are any number of gadgets, software packages, and electronic devices that can easily aide in your creative journey. You can buy the best digital SLR camera, the latest version of Adobe Photoshop, or shoot your film on the RED camera. But there is one piece of technology that still takes absolute precedence.

Your eye. Your creative vision. Dropping the camera to street level, placing it behind a glass of water, close-ups, zooms. Your sense of movement. You can have all the fancy technology in the world, but without a vision, a purpose, a story - without your eye - you will only make a fancy piece of junk.
